Princeton, NJ - The Iona College men's outdoor track team competed at o events in the first day of the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University. Ten personal records were set along with eight IC4A and two NCAA regional qualifying times.

Senior Abraham Ng'etich was the top NCAA regional qualifier with his fifth place finish in the 1500 meter event. His time of 3:44.73 was four seconds behind the race winner. Junior Mohamed Khadraoui also qualfied for the NCAA East Regionals in the event clocking a 3:46.44 in his fourth place finish in his qualifying heat. Senior Evan Garber just missed qualifying for regionals by .04 seconds with his 3:47.84 in a qualifying round. Junior Andrew Ledwith (3:50.10) and freshman Pat Fullerton (3:50.84) finished with IC4A qualifying times.

In addition to the Gaels top five finishers, sophomore Chris Vizcaino and freshman Dave Grange also set personal records in the 1500 with times of 3:52.87 and 3:53.66 respectively.

Sophomore Joe Parks and senior Chase Pizzonia set personal bests while qualifying for IC4A's in the 5000-meter event. Parks finished sixth overall with a time of 14:25.06. Pizzonia was 10th with a time of 14:35.35.
